The CAGS (computer aided gear selection) is a factory built in system that automatically up shifts from first to fourth gears between 18 and 25 MPH. The ratios for maximum performance acceleration are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 but the ratios for best fuel economy with CAGS engaged is 1, 4, 5, 6. While it is convenient in some instances, it is irritating to most of our Camaro and Firebird customers. The CAGS 3CF-plug kit will disengage the CAGS feature, as well as seal the skip shift solenoid and factory connector from contamination. The plug prevents dirt, grease or water from entering the open solenoid and causing a malfunction. Installation is easy. Emissions legal in all 50 states.
